Duke of Edinburgh at Royal Marines Charity Exhibition 29 - 31 March

Hi everyone

My work is at a charity exhibition for the next few days at the Belgravia Gallery, London. I completed two pieces, one of HRH Prince Philip himself (the loveable rogue) and t'other is of HRH Queen Elizabeth 11.

Oh, did I meantion that the Duke of Edinburgh himself is actually going???

I really hope the exhibition goes well. A massive congratulations to the organisers of the event, Trudy Good and Karen Laurence-Rowe, fellow artists, and of course, the Belgravia Gallery for hosting.

Lets hope that the exhibition raises lots of money for the Royal Marines, a fantastic cause.

Per mare per terram!

As the eve of my solo exhibition beckons, we are all filled with the sad news of Elizabeth Taylor passing away. You were a legend Ms Taylor!! Charlotte off've Sex and the City even named her dog after you for gawd sakes!

Anyway, enough sad news.

I have been working extremely hard towards my first solo exhibition in a Central London Gallery. I am filled with nervous excitement as the big day beckons, but I have worked very hard, so I really hope that you all get the opportunity to come along as see the fruits of my labor!

The exhibition will be at the Woolff Gallery, 89 Charlotte Street, London W1T 4PU - open daily 11:00 - 18:00. Nick and Sils who run the gallery are fantastic!

Annemarie Wright meets Peter Oakley from The Zimmers

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of meeting a true gentleman, Peter Oakley from The Zimmers. The Zimmers are the oldest gigging band in the World - I think the average age of the band is 80!!!

www.thezimmersonline.com

Anyway, I decided to do a piece of Peter after it was suggested by a Twitter friend @truedantalion. I believe his real name is Micheal Dantalion. Anyway, Michael suggested that Peter was a really inspirational character and that it would be fantastic to do a piece of him - and he was so right!

Peter is an incredibly inspiring man, who has lived an incredibly interesting life. Other than the Zimmer's he is a regular YouTuber, known as 'Geriatric1927' or 'The internet grandad'.

Peter lives in a beatuiful old house in Derbyshire, that has loads of character and he went out of his way to make me feel welcome. He also gave me a signed copy of his Zimmer's single 'Old and Wise' - I will pop the video below for you to have a look at:

Anyway, I am very pleased to say that Peter was delighted with the piece of art that I did for him, using the lyrics to 'My Generation'.

Thanks to Peter for a wonderful day!
